How many 1000 lb bombs does it take to destroy a base in War Thunder? ›

It basicly takes 4 to 8 thousand pounds (half that for kg) to destroy a base as a simple rule. For most battles I work on the rule 4000 for a 3 base map which there are very few now and 8000 for 4 base maps and they respawn.

On maps where you can destroy airfields, 3 bombs will be enough for 1 base. On maps with respawning bases, 6 bombs will be enough for 1 base. The bomb is also suited for killing tanks in ground battles. Note: the amount of bombs given above is for Realistic battles.

I ask this as before this most recent update the Mighty Mouse FFARs took around 250 rockets to kill a single base in Air Realistic. Now it takes around 100 and the planes that can carry 250+ have absolutely flooded the game and made ground striking bases impossible for anything carrying bombs.

It now takes just 88 FFARs or Hydras instead of 224 to kill a base and there isn't a single patch note about it.

a base is 3x500 kg bombs or 8x250 kg bombs. in lbs it is 3x1000 lbs or 8x500 lbs. if you end up playing a sea map the carriers just need the same amount of bombs as the bases :P. and last the map doesn't change the load needed to kill a base, airfield or carrier :D.

I looked it up on google and found that in RB it is a constant 1,500kg, but I tested it out in rb for myself. I used 3 250kg bombs and took out more than half of the base's hp.

For 1 base using 4 napalm bombs however you are limited to 4 napalm bombs so you would need 4-5 1,000 pound bombs to take out a base and you can carry 5 1,000 pound bombs on each wing while leaving the center pylon for a gun pod.
